In this much-anticipated movie, Rajkummar Rao steps into the shoes of the country is renowned public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, while Wamiqa Gabbi portrays the role of his wife, Jyoti Nikam. Due to noticeable differences in age, body type, and vocal tone, he harbored significant doubts at the outset. However, he firmly believes that an actor must deliberately tackle whatever causes them fear, as this is the only way to break out of one is comfort zone.
Since busy schedules prevented him from meeting Ujjwal Nikam in person before filming began, the actor spent countless hours watching YouTube videos to study his speech patterns and body language. In addition to mastering these behavioral nuances, he also gained weight specifically to match the physical requirements of the character.
Wamiqa Gabbi Initial Rejection
Actress Wamiqa Gabbi similarly admitted that she felt deeply hesitant before signing on to play Jyoti Nikam. In fact, she confessed that she initially turned down the offer flat out. Her primary reservation stemmed from the fact that she is unmarried in real life, yet she was expected to portray a 50-year-old woman with children aged 22 to 23.
Despite her initial reluctance, the desire to push past her comfort boundaries and test her acting mettle ultimately drove her to accept the demanding challenge.
