Security arrangements surrounding the upcoming live musical performance of Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh in Indore have come under sharp focus following an electronic warning sent to local authorities. The concert, scheduled to take place at the city's C-21 ground on November 15, has already seen substantial ticket bookings and extensive logistical preparations. Amid this buildup, a hostile digital communication sought to disrupt the scheduled entertainment event by intimidating civic officials and local educational institutions.
Threat Messages Sent to Mayor and Educational Institutions
The intimidation effort became public when an email sent from an account titled Khalistani National Army arrived in the inbox of Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav. The Mayor confirmed receipt of the dispatch, which demanded the cancellation of the music concert. Parallel alerts were also delivered to three schools located within the city, warning administrations against permitting children and students to attend the upcoming gathering. The extended text of the communication, written in Punjabi, included references to two unusual names alongside regional separatist terminology.
Investigation Handed Over to Police Commissioner
Addressing media representatives during a formal press briefing, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav detailed the nature of the message and the immediate countermeasures initiated by the city administration. Upon receiving the communication, the Mayor promptly forwarded the complete electronic document to the Police Commissioner of Indore for rigorous technical and security evaluation. Addressing questions regarding whether the threat specifically targeted the Mayor's office or municipal structures with explosive devices, Bhargav reasoned that since permissions and administrative clearances for massive public gatherings pass through the municipal corporation and the Mayor's secretariat, the sender likely directed the communication there for administrative leverage.
Civic Leadership Affirms Uninterrupted Cultural Events
Despite the provocative warnings, civic authorities have signaled that scheduled cultural activities should proceed under vigilant security safeguards. Reaffirming complete faith in law enforcement agencies, the Mayor maintained that local police possess the capability to manage any unwarranted disruptions. Bhargav said,
"Shows of patriotic individuals should be held in Indore and continue to happen, I do not believe there should be any issue with that, and to deal with such threats, Indore police and our other police forces are fully capable."He stressed that well-organized city events should remain unaffected by intimidation tactics as investigations proceed.
