During the auspicious month of Sawan, the city of Bhilwara in Rajasthan experienced a deep spiritual atmosphere as the 51st grand Kanwar Yatra was conducted with great enthusiasm. Organized under the auspices of Shri Mahavir Hanuman Sewa Sansthan, the religious procession featured 151 Kanwadiyas carrying holy water and 51 women participating with traditional Kalash on their heads. Chants of Har Har Mahadev and Bol Bam echoed through the streets as the procession moved across key landmarks of the city.

Grand Departure from Pipleshwar Mahadev Temple

The spiritual journey formally commenced at the Pipleshwar Mahadev Temple, located near the Suchna Kendra intersection, following elaborate ritual worship. Rajesh Sharma, the convener of the procession, highlighted that Shri Mahavir Hanuman Sewa Sansthan hosts this traditional Yatra every year during Sawan with immense devotion. Shiva devotees gathered in large numbers to demonstrate their faith, walking along the route while dancing to religious hymns and bhajans played on sound systems.

Starting from Pipleshwar Mahadev Temple, the rally traversed several main areas of Bhilwara. The procession passed through Azad Chowk, Satyanarayan Temple, the Railway Station, Sarkari Darwaja, Gol Pyau Chauraha, and Balaji Market before arriving back near Suchna Kendra. From there, it advanced toward Rajiv Gandhi Market, City Kotwali, Girls College, and Badla Chauraha. Devotees then proceeded via Shyam Temple and Dadidham to reach their final destination at the Harni Mahadev Temple. Along the route, residents and local traders welcomed the pilgrims warmly, showering flower petals on the procession.

Sacred Water Offering and Rituals at Harni Mahadev

Upon arriving at the Harni Mahadev Temple, pilgrims performed the sacred Jalabhishek ritual on the Shivling with the holy water brought in their Kanwars. Special worship ceremonies were also conducted at the 12 Jyotirlinga Temple within the complex, where devotees prayed for general prosperity, health, and happiness. Given the religious significance of offering water to Lord Shiva during Sawan, enthusiasm among the gathering remained high throughout the rituals.

Sunderkand Path and Pre-Yatra Devotional Evening

A night before the procession took place, special religious ceremonies were organized at the Pipleshwar Mahadev Temple. A recitation of the Sunderkand Path was held, accompanied by patriotic songs and prayers for good rainfall in the region. Devotees remained immersed in devotional singing and celebration till late at night, setting the spiritual tone for the Kanwar Yatra the following morning.
