As the festival of Diwali approaches, market activity in Ghazipur has picked up significantly, with residents seeking out fresh decoration concepts for their homes. Decorating the main entrance of a residence holds traditional significance during Deepawali, as it is believed to welcome prosperity into the household. To cater to this seasonal demand, a major decorative hub near the Irrigation Department in Ghazipur has stocked a widespread collection of floral garlands, torans, and artistic chandeliers. Shoppers this year can explore nearly 1000 distinct design variations, ranging from cloth and bead torans to traditional Rajasthani bandarwars.
Over 1000 Unique Designs Brighten Main Entrances
Shops across the location are showcasing vibrant decorative strands visible from a distance in shades of yellow, orange, pink, white, and green. Many of these artificial flower garlands replicate the detailed appearance of natural marigold blossoms, while others are styled after delicate white mogra flowers. These items are primarily designed for embellishing main entrance gates, interior doorways, and sacred puja altars. Alongside floral strands, torans made from a combination of fabric, beads, and metallic accents have seen steady inquiry from local buyers.
Bead and Fabric Torans Popular Among Buyers
The beaded fabric torans available in the market have established a strong presence due to their intricate craftsmanship. Local vendor Satyaprakash explained that these fabric and bead combinations are crafted specifically for main outer gates. The price for this specific toran model is set at Rs 460 per piece. According to Satyaprakash, householders often purchase 5 to 6 pieces to frame larger doorways comprehensively, allowing buyers to customize the setup according to the exact dimensions and aesthetic preferences of their entrance.
Rajasthani Bandarwars and Chandeliers Add Heritage Appeal
Artisanal pieces reflecting Rajasthani heritage and classic motifs are another highlight at the Ghazipur venue. These offerings include hanging chandeliers, known as jhoomars, and traditional door hangings known as bandarwars. Bandarwars are mounted directly above the doorway, whereas jhoomars are hung either in the center of the entryway or in designated decorative spaces. Embellished with synthetic flowers, beads, and reflective elements, shopkeepers note that these products gleam brightly when artificial lighting falls upon them. Consequently, these Rajasthani bandarwars are being purchased not only for residential entrances but also for decorating neighborhood temples.
Garlands Priced Between Rs 30 and Rs 120
For budget-conscious shoppers, artificial marigold-style garlands are stocked in yellow, orange, red, and multi-colored combination patterns. Crisp white strands styled after mogra buds are also displayed across stalls. Satyaprakash noted that their inventory includes roughly 30 to 35 different varieties of artificial flower garlands. Prices for these floral strands remain highly accessible, ranging from Rs 30 up to Rs 120 per individual piece.
Comprehensive Decor Arrangement Options for Festival Season
Long artificial flower strands are typically suspended on either side of a door or draped across the upper border. Market manager Abhishek highlighted that fabric and bead torans serve as the central centerpiece for main entrance gates. Meanwhile, traditional hanging bandarwars cover the top beam of the door frame, and decorative jhoomars suspended in central spots complete the festive look. Together, these affordable decor options provide Ghazipur residents with diverse choices tailored to varying budgets and house layouts.
