A tragic road accident occurred on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway in the Palwal region of Haryana early on Tuesday morning. A pickup van packed with devotees crashed into a stationary truck parked on the side of the highway. The impact resulted in the death of 6 devotees on the spot, while 14 others sustained injuries. Police officials confirmed that all six deceased individuals were women.
Devotees Were Returning from Rajasthan Temples
The victims involved in the accident belonged to the Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh. They hailed from villages including Kishanpur Muraiya, Makoya, Chanda, and surrounding areas, having embarked on a joint pilgrimage. On Monday evening, the group completed their worship at the famous Khatu Shyam and Salasar Balaji temples in Rajasthan. After visiting these holy sites, they were traveling toward Mathura and Vrindavan when the incident took place during the early hours on the expressway.
Collision with a Stationary Truck
According to available details, the accident transpired when the pickup van lost control and rammed directly into the rear of a truck parked along the KMP Expressway. The intensity of the crash completely smashed the front portion of the pickup van, leading to immediate panic and chaos among the passengers. Nearby residents and passersby rushed to the scene after hearing the violent crash.
Rescue Operations and Medical Assistance
Upon receiving the emergency call, Palwal police personnel swiftly arrived at the site. With the assistance of local residents, emergency responders managed to extract the passengers trapped inside the crumpled vehicle. All the victims were immediately transported to the district hospital in Palwal. Medical authorities declared six women dead upon arrival, while the remaining 14 injured individuals are currently undergoing medical treatment. Authorities have sent the bodies of the deceased for post-mortem analysis at the civil hospital and initiated a formal investigation into the crash.
