A shocking incident of daylight gun violence erupted right outside the main gate of the Hisar District Court in Haryana around 2:45 PM on Thursday, resulting in the death of infamous gangster Vinod Panu alias Kana. A resident of Thurana village, Vinod Kana had arrived at the court premises to attend a scheduled legal hearing. As he was present near the gate, unidentified assailants arriving on a motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire on him before fleeing the scene immediately after executing the crime.
Chaos Outside Court Premises as Vehicle Damage Reported
The sudden barrage of bullets in broad daylight outside the main entrance triggered widespread panic and confusion among lawyers, litigants, and bystanders. According to on-site observations, the attackers fired approximately 10 to 12 rounds of bullets in rapid succession. The intensity of the gunfire shattered the glass windows of a vehicle parked nearby. The unexpected shooting left the immediate vicinity in total disarray as people rushed for safety.
Court Turned into Police Encampment as CCTV Scanned
Upon receiving news of the fatal shooting, police personnel swiftly arrived at the scene to secure the area and establish control. Given the gravity of the situation, the authorities promptly turned the entire court complex into a heavy police encampment and set up strict security blockades across all major routes. Law enforcement teams are currently examining video footage from CCTV cameras installed at the court entry gates and surrounding locations to identify the motorcycle-borne gunmen and track their escape route.
Most Wanted Gangster Faced 31 Cases; Security Questioned
Police records indicate that Vinod Panu alias Kana was a most wanted gangster in Hisar, with around 31 criminal cases registered against him, including charges of murder. Among the severe charges he faced was his alleged involvement in the murder of the nephew of MLA Savitri Jindal's PA in Hisar. The audacious killing carried out right in front of the main court gate has raised serious concerns regarding police security measures at high-risk public venues. Police have launched a comprehensive investigation to catch the perpetrators.
