A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday at a school located on Ghazipur Road in Faridabad, Haryana, where an 11th-grade female student lost her life after allegedly jumping from the third floor of the building. The young girl had arrived at the school in the morning accompanied by her two younger brothers. Following the fall, she was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but medical authorities declared her dead on arrival. The tragic death has sparked intense grief among family members and prompted a comprehensive investigation by local law enforcement authorities.
Family Allegations of Scolding and Consecutive Hours of Standing Penalty
The parents of the deceased student have leveled serious allegations against the school staff, claiming that harsh disciplinary measures led to the tragedy. According to her family, a teacher reprimanded the girl after she went to eat biryani without informing anyone in advance. The parents alleged that as a form of punishment, the student was made to stand continuously for four hours at school. Overwhelmed by distress and mental humiliation caused by the prolonged punishment, the student allegedly took the extreme step of jumping off the school building.
School Management Denies Charges as Dabua Police Initiate Probe
In response to the accusations, R K Sharma, the principal of Navodaya Vidya Niketan Senior Secondary School, firmly denied that any punishment had been inflicted upon the student. The school administration maintained that the girl had left her classroom with permission to visit the bathroom, after which she quietly made her way to the roof. Sumer Singh, the station house officer at Dabua police station, stated that the police have taken custody of the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination. Law enforcement officials are actively recording detailed statements from the victim's father, her classmates, and the school management to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the incident.
Similar Fatal School Incident Reported in East Vinod Nagar Delhi
This tragic occurrence follows a similar heartbreaking event reported recently in East Vinod Nagar, Delhi. On August 27, a female student collapsed and subsequently passed away after being subjected to severe punishment by a teacher for failing to bring a textbook to class. In that instance, the student had been ordered to stand in the harsh sunlight with her arms raised, causing her health to deteriorate rapidly before she fainted. These back-to-back incidents have raised widespread concerns regarding student safety and disciplinary practices in educational institutions.
