Following the arrest of technology trainer Vimal Daga in a high-profile case in Gurugram, local law enforcement and the cyber cell have significantly accelerated their investigation. A case involving serious criminal charges was registered at the DLF police station against Vimal Daga and two other individuals associated with LinuxWorld Informatics, following a formal complaint by a woman. The probe has now escalated from the local police station to the DCP and ACP levels, while the cyber crime department is closely monitoring every development.
Allegations of False Marriage Promises and Assault
According to the FIR registered at the DLF police station on July 29 of last month, the complainant accused Vimal Daga of physical exploitation under the pretext of marriage. The woman stated that they met in 2017, during which Daga claimed to be unmarried. She alleged that he established physical relations by promising marriage, and further accused him of forced abortion without consent, physical assault, and repeated rape.
Blackmailing and Financial Transactions Under Scrutiny
The police complaint details that the accused blackmailed the victim by threatening to leak her private photographs and videos. The allegations also involve financial disputes amounting to roughly 70 lakh rupees in transactions and around 10.50 lakh rupees in personal loans. Furthermore, the complaint notes an incident in April 2025 where she was allegedly summoned to a Gurugram hotel under duress and subjected to forced physical relations.
Virtual Numbers and AI Tactics Under Cyber Investigation
Investigators found that the accused allegedly sent threatening messages using numerous virtual mobile numbers and multiple email accounts to avoid detection. The Cyber Crime Police Station East in Gurugram had received a complaint regarding this in February 2026. Technical investigations revealed that upon learning the victim intended to file a police case, the accused allegedly utilized artificial intelligence tools to orchestrate honey-trap style counter-allegations aimed at defaming and pressurizing her.
Senior Officers Take Charge of the Investigation
Given the gravity of the allegations, senior Gurugram police officials, including DCP and ACP ranks, have taken personal charge of the proceedings. The DLF police station team, alongside the Cyber Crime East unit, is securing and examining mobile phones, email communications, cloud accounts, and other electronic evidence. According to official police records, assistant sub-inspector Saroj has been entrusted with the primary investigation of the case.
