Discharged as Improved, Then Died in the Trauma Ward Two Days Later
The most recent and widely discussed case is from Mathuradas Mathur Hospital, known as MDM Hospital. A woman had been admitted there for around 20 days and was undergoing continuous treatment. On July 17, doctors noted an improvement in her condition and discharged her from the hospital. According to her family, everything seemed fine after she returned home, but just two days later, on July 19, her health suddenly took a turn for the worse. As her condition deteriorated further, her family rushed her back to MDM Hospital, where she was admitted to the trauma ward. She died during treatment there. The fact that she died within two days of being discharged, despite having spent twenty days in the hospital, has left her family deeply angry, and they are demanding an impartial investigation into her entire course of treatment.
On Ventilator Support for 25 Days, Lost to Post-Delivery Bleeding
A day earlier, on Sunday, another woman died at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital. According to the hospital management, she had been on ventilator support for the previous 25 days. She suffered excessive bleeding after delivery, which kept her condition critically unstable throughout. Doctors continued treating her without a break through those 25 days in an effort to save her life, but they were ultimately unable to do so. Following this death as well, her family did not stay silent and raised questions with the hospital management about the entire treatment process. They say that despite such prolonged treatment, they deserve answers on why she could not be saved.
Medical Records Under Review, Focus on Whether Protocols Were Followed
Following the deaths of both women, the health department has swung into action and is gathering full details of both cases. Hospital management says the medical records in both cases are being closely examined to determine whether the prescribed medical protocols were followed at every stage of treatment.
