A 42 year old man was beaten to death in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh over allegations of stalking and harassing a local young woman. The incident took place in Baloh Panchayat located in the Barthin area, where family members of the woman caught the man after discovering that he was repeatedly following her on his motorcycle. The severe physical assault resulted in the man's death. Following the incident, local police promptly arrested the key accused, identified as 44 year old Anoop Singh alias Bunty, under murder charges.
Fatal Conflict in Baloh Panchayat of Barthin
According to local police reports, the fatal altercation occurred in Baloh Panchayat of Barthin, situated under Jhandutta tehsil in Bilaspur district. The deceased has been identified as 42 year old Dharmendra Singh, a resident of Sangaswi-2 village in Jhandutta tehsil. Meanwhile, police arrested 44 year old Anoop Singh alias Bunty, a resident of Malangan village in Jhandutta tehsil, in connection with the homicide. Reports indicate that Dharmendra Singh had been persistently following the young woman on his motorcycle and causing her distress. Upon learning about his actions, the woman's family intercepted Dharmendra and physically assaulted him.
Video Shows Assault and Apology at Girl's Feet
Video recordings of the incident have surfaced, providing details about the confrontation. In the footage, the accused Anoop Singh alias Bunty can be seen assaulting Dharmendra while the young woman stands nearby. The video shows Dharmendra falling at the woman's feet to plead for forgiveness. An off-camera voice can be heard sternly instructing Dharmendra never to pursue the woman on his bike again or travel along that route after consuming alcohol, emphasizing that the girl is like a daughter to him.
The person in the video further warns Dharmendra that any repeated harassment would result in him being sent to jail and being paraded wearing a garland of shoes. In a separate video clip, accused Anoop Singh is seen repeatedly striking Dharmendra with a strap-like object. Visual evidence suggests that the victim Dharmendra was under the influence of alcohol during the assault.
