Autumn has arrived with shorter days and a distinct chill in the air, signaling the arrival of the spooky season across the entertainment calendar. While horror enthusiasts gear up for intense thrillers, family-oriented supernatural entertainment is also making a prominent mark. The acclaimed comedy sitcom Ghosts is now making its cinematic transition with The Possession Of Button House, and its newly debuted trailer confirms a chaotic and deeply humorous supernatural mix-up at the center of the plot.
A Séance Gone Wrong at Button House
An earlier preview briefly teased a group of trespassing teenagers breaking into the historic Button House estate to conduct an amateur séance. The full trailer now shows the wild consequences of that late-night ritual. During the spirit session, the notoriously pantless politician spirit Julian Fawcett manages to possess one of the young visitors. Consequently, the unlucky teenager finds his spirit dislodged and trapped inside the grand home alongside the resident phantoms, while Julian takes full advantage of walking in physical adolescent form.
A Race Against Time for Alison and Mike
Having escaped Button House in a human body, Julian heads directly into the ordinary lives of Alison (Charlotte Ritchie), Mike (Kiell Smith-Bynoe), and their infant child. The development triggers a ticking-clock emergency reminiscent of the underworld mechanics seen in films like Coco. The characters must orchestrate a way to return the teenager's displaced soul into his physical form before the transformation becomes permanent, which would leave him stranded forever as another resident ghost. Back at the manor, Kitty, Thomas, Lady Fanny, Pat, Robin, Sir Humphrey Bone, and the Captain must navigate the confusion and work together to reverse the swap.
Theatrical Debut Set for October 23
Apart from Katy Wix, whose character departed earlier in the series lore, the main ensemble is back in full force to shepherd the property into cinemas. Loaded with rapid-fire comedic beats, the promotional preview sets up an ambitious expansion of the haunted estate's adventures.
