A bomb threat received via email targeting the Jharkhand Assembly complex in Ranchi triggered a major security alert. Following the alarming communication, an official from the assembly lodged a formal FIR at the Assembly police station in Ranchi to initiate legal proceedings.
Comprehensive Security Sweep by BDDS Unit
Upon receiving information about the threat email, security protocols were immediately activated. A specialized BDDS team from the Jharkhand Jaguar force conducted an extensive search operation across the entire assembly building. Utilizing detector devices and trained canine units, security personnel thoroughly inspected all corridors, chambers, and surrounding areas. No explosive devices or suspicious materials were discovered during the search.
Technical Investigation to Trace Email Origin
Police officers alongside cyber cell experts have begun tracing the origin of the threat message. Technical teams are analyzing server logs and IP addresses associated with the sender to identify the source. Investigators are examining whether the email originated from a hoaxer or a coordinated effort aimed at disrupting administrative operations.
Pattern of Threats Targeting Public Institutions
This incident comes amid a broader pattern of email bomb threats directed at legislative and judicial facilities across the region. Courts in Jharkhand including those in Dhanbad, Sahibganj, Ramgarh, and Ranchi have previously received similar threat emails. State assemblies in Delhi and Bihar have likewise faced similar security scares in recent months, prompting heightened vigilance across government establishments.
