In a major crackdown on government corruption, the Karnataka Lokayukta Police has registered a case of disproportionate assets against B Mallikarjun, who serves as the Special Land Acquisition Officer in Bengaluru. Following the formal registration of the case at the K.L.A. Police Station, investigative teams launched coordinated search operations across multiple locations associated with the public servant.
Simultaneous Search Operations Across 11 Locations
Lokayukta officers executed simultaneous raids at more than 11 locations, covering the official residence, workplace office, and premises belonging to the officer's relatives and associates. The comprehensive search uncovered total accumulated assets valued at Rs 18 crore. Preliminary financial evaluations indicate that Rs 13 crore of this total wealth is disproportionate to the officer's known legal sources of income.
Breakdown of Seized and Attached Properties
During the operation, investigative authorities attached substantial real estate assets linked to the officer. These included 2 residential houses along with 100 acres and 05 guntas of agricultural land, which carries an estimated valuation of Rs 14 crore 28 lakh 57 thousand.
Furthermore, searching teams recovered Rs 2 crore 53 lakh in unaccounted cash directly from the official's home. The inventory of corrupt earnings compiled by the Lokayukta police also features gold and silver ornaments valued at Rs 3,10,000, motor vehicles worth Rs 15,00,000, a bank balance totaling Rs 1,00,00,000, and household articles evaluated at Rs 33,40,535. Further legal proceedings and detailed investigations into the matter remain underway.
