A tragic incident has shaken Mysuru in Karnataka, where a 45-year-old woman allegedly ended her life by consuming poison after enduring months of workplace distress. The deceased has been identified as Nageshwari, who was also known as Rajeshwari and resided in the Hinkal area. Reports indicate that the victim was consistently denied weekly off days and was subjected to continuous mental harassment at her workplace. Her body was recovered from her residence on Friday, prompting local authorities to initiate a thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding her death.
According to the victim's husband, Ashok, he tried calling Nageshwari on her mobile phone on Friday afternoon, but his calls went unanswered. Growing suspicious due to the lack of response, he rushed home immediately and discovered his wife lying unconscious on the floor. Nageshwari was swiftly rushed to a hospital, where attending doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. Medical staff confirmed that she had already passed away before reaching the medical facility.
Details Emerging From The Suicide Note
During the subsequent investigation, law enforcement officers recovered a suicide note from the scene that shed light on the pressures she faced. In the note, Nageshwari detailed that she had been working at a supermarket near Hinkal for several years. However, the note alleged that a newly appointed supervisor named Dolly subjected her to severe harassment. The deceased wrote that she was regularly refused weekly holidays and was coerced into taking the blame for mistakes she had never committed.
The note further revealed that when she was unable to attend work for two to three days due to illness, she was abruptly terminated from her job. This sudden job loss compounded her deep distress and pushed her to take the extreme step. Local police have taken possession of the note and are continuing their detailed investigation into the matter.
Prior Incident In Bengaluru Claims Two Lives
In a separate grim incident that occurred last month in Bengaluru, a man allegedly killed his wife before taking his own life. The deceased couple was identified as 28-year-old Manoj Kumar and his 26-year-old wife Sapna. The couple had relocated to Bengaluru a few years prior and were living in a rented house located in the Lakshmappa Garden area in the southern part of the city.
Last month, a domestic dispute erupted between the couple, following which the husband strangled his wife and subsequently hanged himself from the ceiling fan. Police noted at the time that Sapna was four months pregnant, and both bodies were sent for post-mortem examinations as part of the ongoing inquiry.
