A bizarre case out of Gwalior's Antri police station area shows how something as small as asking for a lift turned violent. A young salon owner ended up seriously injured after the father and uncle of a woman who gave him a ride on her scooter attacked him with a razor.
A hairdresser from Puri village
Golu Sen, 21, lives in Puri village under the Antri police station limits and runs his own hair cutting salon there. On Friday, he asked a young woman from his neighbourhood for a lift, and she agreed, dropping him off in the village on her scooter. When the woman's father learned about it, he flew into a rage.
Father and uncle decide to teach him a lesson
Baldev Kushwaha, the woman's father, was furious that his daughter had given a neighbourhood youth a ride on her scooter. He and his brother Chandan Kushwaha decided to teach Golu Sen a lesson. Around 8:30 pm on Friday night, while Golu was working at his shop, Baldev and Chandan suddenly showed up and began hurling abuses at him.
Dragged onto the street, beaten and slashed with a razor
When Golu tried to protest, the two men started punching and kicking him. That was not enough for them either. They dragged Golu out of his shop onto the road and beat him publicly. During the assault, Chandan pulled out a razor he was carrying and tried to strike Golu in the stomach. Golu raised his hand to protect himself, and the razor sliced into his wrist instead, leaving him badly injured. Baldev and Chandan fled the scene right after the attack.
Bleeding, Golu reaches the police station; case registered
Golu Sen went straight to the Antri police station in a bleeding condition and filed a complaint detailing the entire incident. Acting on his complaint, police have registered a case against Baldev Kushwaha and Chandan Kushwaha. Gwalior ASP Jairaj Kuber confirmed the incident. Both accused have been on the run since the attack, and police are now searching for them.
