The situation in Chitrakoot remains extremely critical as the water level in the Mandakini River witnessed a sudden and massive surge on Saturday morning. Within hours, Ramghat and its surrounding large areas submerged completely underwater. The bridge situated on the route heading toward Hanuman Dhara near the Rajola Bypass submerged entirely under floodwaters, closing transit along the main Chitrakoot-Satna highway. The washing away of the major bridge at Ramghat has further aggravated logistical concerns.
