Changes to Teacher E-Attendance
The Madhya Pradesh School Education Department has implemented a significant update to the 'Hamare Shikshak' app used for monitoring teacher attendance. Teachers are now required to log out from the application while physically present within the school premises. This decision follows data findings that revealed approximately 50 percent of teachers were located far from their schools at the time of dismissal. The department found that many educators were marking their attendance upon arrival and leaving for home, prompting this stricter directive. Currently, 90 percent of regular teachers, 93 percent of guest teachers, and 100 percent of principals are utilizing the app. Attendance rates are as high as 95 percent in districts like Betul, Satna, Anuppur, Mandla, Balaghat, and Neemuch, while rates are lower in Bhopal, Indore, Khandwa, Khargone, Ratlam, and Raisen. The new mandate will particularly impact teachers working in rural areas.
