Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav chaired a crucial cabinet meeting where several major financial proposals aimed at boosting state development were greenlit. A total allocation of Rs 10,630 crore has been sanctioned to drive progress across infrastructure, healthcare, cyber security, and social welfare sectors.
Boosting Road Connectivity Across the State
To strengthen the regional transport network, the cabinet approved a government guarantee for a loan of Rs 4,600 crore through the NABARD Infrastructure Development Assistance for the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation. This funding will support the construction and widening of 12 major routes, including Bhopal-Vidisha, Khalghat-Manawar-Mangod, Mandsaur-Sitamau, Sitamau-Basai-Suwasras, and the East Bhopal Bypass. Ownership of 22 key roads will be transferred to the corporation, with loan repayments managed through toll collections.
Focus on Seoni-Balaghat Corridor
A significant allocation of Rs 3,960.09 crore was sanctioned for upgrading the 91.64-kilometer Seoni-Balaghat route into a four-lane highway with paved shoulders. This corridor links major national highways and connects industrial hubs, mineral mines, and wildlife zones like Kanha and Pench Tiger Reserves, directly benefiting nearly 8 to 10 million residents in the region.
Welfare Schemes for Vulnerable Sections
The cabinet cleared Rs 1,740 crore for the continuous operation of 19 social welfare initiatives under the Social Justice and Disabled Empowerment Department through 2031. These programs provide financial assistance, pensions, and support to senior citizens, women, destitute individuals, and differently-abled persons.
Staffing Approval for Dhanvantari Health University
To ensure smooth operations at the Madhya Pradesh Dhanvantari Health University in Ujjain, the cabinet sanctioned 244 positions, including 154 regular posts, one contractual position, and 89 outsourced roles. This administrative decentralization will streamline examinations and affiliations for medical institutions across 31 districts.
Enhancing Cyber Security Infrastructure
An allocation of Rs 80 crore was approved for the State Computer Security Incident Response Operation Centre to bolster digital defenses. The plan includes creating 25 new technical and forensic roles alongside internship opportunities for engineering graduates from premier national institutions.
Development of Official Premises in Delhi and Mumbai
The cabinet sanctioned Rs 250.67 crore under the 16th Finance Commission period for administrative offices and guest houses in New Delhi and Mumbai, including the proposed expansion of Madhyanchal Bhavan.
Land Purchase Policy Amendments and Sports Incentives
Amendments were made to the voluntary land purchase policy to expedite infrastructure projects by offering double the collector guideline value as rehabilitation grants for rural agricultural land. Additionally, a cash incentive of Rs 78 lakh was retrospectively approved for three players and three coaches from the state following their gold medal victory at the Women's T20 Blind Cricket World Cup 2025.
