Madhya Pradesh youths tortured with electric shocks over theft suspicion, video sparks political storm

A video from Raisen district in Madhya Pradesh showing two young men tied up and shocked with electricity over a motor theft suspicion went viral, prompting NCPCR member Priyank Kanoongo to target AIMIM leader Mubin Khan while police hunt for the accused.

A deeply disturbing video from Raisen district in Madhya Pradesh has left people shaken. Two young men suspected of stealing a motor were tied up, tortured and given electric shocks, with visuals showing them writhing in pain, screaming loudly and pleading for mercy. The moment the video spread across social media, it triggered outrage, pulling in sharp reactions from political and social circles alike.

How the ordeal began over a theft suspicion

The video making the rounds online is said to be a few days old. The trouble started with an accusation of motor theft against the two young men. Once the allegation surfaced locally, a group of local strongmen took the law into their own hands. One of the young men was first tied up tightly with a rope, and soon after, the second was bound alongside him. The two were then abused, beaten mercilessly and subjected to repeated electric shocks as they writhed in pain, yet the accused showed them no mercy at all.

He added that cognizance of the matter was being taken and necessary instructions were being issued, making clear that this is India, where Sharia law or Taliban law will not be allowed to run, and that those responsible would have to learn this lesson.
