National Focus on Jabalpur for International Yoga Day
The 12th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, putting a special spotlight on Jabalpur. President Droupadi Murmu led the grand celebrations at the Garrison Ground in Sadar, Jabalpur. She was joined by Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda, Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar, and Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh, alongside several other public representatives and administrative officials.
In Gwalior, the historic Gwalior Fort hosted the Yoga Day event, where Minister in charge Tulsi Silawat performed yoga alongside the district Collector, SP, Commissioner, and other administrative officers, with several prominent citizens participating. Meanwhile, in Chhattisgarh, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma attended the celebrations at the PG College Dome complex in Kawardha, performing yoga and sharing greetings with the public. Another major event took place at Khalsa School in Durg, where Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao led the district level program, encouraging the public to embrace a healthy lifestyle through yoga, with local officials and public representatives attending in large numbers.
Ultra-Tight Vigil for NEET Re-Examination
With the high stakes surrounding the NEET re-examination, administrations across both states are on maximum alert. In Indore, extensive safety arrangements have been deployed to ensure a transparent and fair examination process. Under the directives of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, local authorities are on high alert. Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh conducted a midnight inspection of the examination centers. A total of 57 centers have been set up in the district to accommodate approximately 23,000 candidates, protected by a two-layer security network and high-tech CCTV monitoring.
A mock drill was conducted prior to the examination to verify preparations. Special help desks have been established at all centers to assist students who might forget critical documents like their Aadhaar cards or photographs, offering on-the-spot Aadhaar verification and photo printing services. Candidates residing more than 10 kilometers away from their centers can access free public transport services. Authorities have strictly warned against spreading rumors, stating that FIRs will be registered against miscreants, and a dedicated control room has been opened at the Collectorate to handle complaints. Similarly, in Rajnandgaon, six examination centers have been organized for 1,982 registered candidates under tight security protocols, complete with CCTV camera surveillance.
Rahul Gandhi's Scheduled Visit to Chhattisgarh
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is scheduled to visit Chhattisgarh today. He is expected to land at the Raipur airport at 2:00 PM. From there, he will travel directly to Abhanpur to attend a training session organized for newly appointed Congress District Presidents. Following the training, he will return to the Raipur airport by 5:30 PM to board a 6:45 PM flight back to Delhi.
Justice and Crime Updates: Ratlam Triple Murder & Bhopal Burglaries
In a major judicial development, three individuals have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the sensational Rajiv Nagar triple murder case in Ratlam. Seventh Additional Sessions Judge Rajesh Namdev pronounced the life sentence for Anurag Parmar, Gaurav Bilwal, and Lala Bhabor. The tragic incident occurred on 25 November 2020, on the occasion of Chhoti Deepawali, when a mother, father, and their daughter were shot dead during a robbery attempt. The primary accused, Dilip Deval, was previously killed in an encounter with the police.
Meanwhile, in Bhopal, a major burglary spree was reported at the Ayodhya Bypass Bhanpur PM Awas Multi complex. Around half a dozen masked thieves ransacked 12 flats between 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM, stealing valuable jewelry and lakhs of rupees in cash. The Chhola police station has registered complaints, though some affected residents are currently out of town and have not yet filed reports. This incident marks the fourth major theft in this residential complex over the past three months, prompting police to launch an active investigation.
Sports Star Seeks Blessings in Ujjain
Indian women's cricketer Sneh Rana visited the holy town of Ujjain to seek divine blessings at the Lord Mahakaleshwar temple. She attended the sacred early morning Bhasma Aarti of the Jyotirlinga. Following the prayers, Deputy Administrator of the Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee, SN Soni, formally welcomed and honored the cricketer on behalf of the committee.
