A major infrastructure push has been launched to improve connectivity across remote, hilly, tribal, and underdeveloped regions in Sagar district. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), a total of 33 new paved roads spanning 62 kilometers will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹50.77 crore. This road network expansion will connect approximately 58 rural habitations directly to main transit routes, providing villagers with uninterrupted all-weather transportation infrastructure.
Socio-Economic Impact on Rural Communities
While national and state highways continue to expand regional transit networks, targeted efforts are now underway to strengthen last-mile rural connectivity. The construction of paved roads will bring transformative changes to daily living conditions across remote areas in Banda, Deori, Jaisinagar, and Kesli blocks. With year-round road access, residents will gain easier reach to educational institutions, healthcare facilities, employment centers, and agricultural markets, significantly accelerating socio-economic growth across these rural belts.
