Farmers across the region had begun kharif sowing after the first heavy showers of the season, a routine race against time that turned tragic within moments.
Farmers Rushed to Cover Seeds as Rain Turned Heavy
According to police, four farmers from Pali village were sowing kharif crop seeds in their field when the weather suddenly changed and heavy rain began to pour without warning. Worried that the sudden downpour would spoil the freshly sown seeds, Juggan Yadav and Raju Lodhi rushed to lay a tarpaulin sheet over them to protect their crop investment. As they were doing so, lightning struck the two men directly, killing them on the spot before anyone could react.

At the time, several other villagers were working in nearby fields, going about their daily chores. When the lightning struck, they ran for their lives to save themselves and also tried to rescue Bharat Singh, but their efforts did not succeed, and he died on the spot.
