Police in Mumbai have safely rescued two minors who ran away from their respective homes in different states to pursue careers in films and television. The incidents came to light after the Aarey Police Station located near the famous Film City area in Goregaon intervened and secured both children. One of the rescued minors is a 15-year-old girl from Assam, while the other is a 16-year-old boy from Madhya Pradesh. Both teenagers had traveled hundreds of kilometers without informing their families, motivated by a desire to get acting opportunities in the entertainment industry.
Assam Teenager Reaches Film City Looking for Acting Roles
The first incident involves a 15-year-old girl who arrived in Mumbai seeking work in movies and television shows. Driven by her dream of acting, the teenager traveled all the way from Assam. Upon arriving at the Film City complex in Mumbai, she attempted to enter the studio grounds to look for work but was denied entry by security personnel. Facing difficulty and having nowhere else to go, she approached the nearby Aarey Police Station for assistance.
Recognizing the delicate nature of the situation, the police team conducted an inquiry in the presence of female police personnel to make the young girl comfortable. During the conversation, she identified herself as Priyankhi Tutu Bora, aged 15, residing in the Bokakhat area of Golaghat district in Assam. She revealed that she had left her home on August 4, 2026, without informing her family members. Following the initial questioning, the police safely transferred her to a One Stop Centre for protective care and custody.
Madhya Pradesh Boy Traveled to Join Popular TV Show
In a separate case, a 16-year-old boy was found wandering unattended around the Film City premises. After receiving information about a child moving around alone under suspicious circumstances, a mobile patrolling unit from the Aarey Police Station reached the spot and took him into safe custody before bringing him back to the station for questioning.
Upon interrogation, the boy introduced himself as Paras Ratiram Verma, aged 16, a resident of Hiwarkhedi village in the Chaurai block of Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh. Paras explained that he harbored a strong desire to act in the popular television serial 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah'. Driven by this ambition, he left his house on August 6, 2026, around 2:00 PM under the pretext of going to school. Instead of heading to school, he went to the Chhindwara railway station, boarded a train to Nagpur, and then took another train from Nagpur to Mumbai.
Reached Goregaon by Local Train and Walked to Film City
According to police details, Paras reached Mumbai on the morning of August 7, 2026. From the main railway terminal, he took a local train to Goregaon station and subsequently walked on foot from the station to Film City. Once his identity was confirmed, the Aarey Police immediately got in touch with his family in Madhya Pradesh. His father informed the authorities that Paras had left home claiming he was attending school and had been missing since. The father confirmed that he was traveling to Mumbai to collect his son. Until his arrival, the teenager remains safely under the care and protection of the Aarey Police Station.
