Sahil Wakode had died by suicide inside hostel number 4 by hanging from a ceiling fan. The tragedy sparked widespread discussion across the country and led to significant student protests on campus. Responding to the concerns and demands raised by the student body, the institute administration moved to implement strict preventative protocols.
Administrative Action and Police Case
On Monday, September 21, the institution saw decisive administrative fallout related to the student's death. Professor Suryanarayana Dulla was officially removed from the position of Dean of Student Affairs.
In parallel, law enforcement took action based on a formal complaint submitted by Sahil Wakode's father. The Mumbai police registered an FIR against Professor Suryanarayana Dulla, who had also served as an invigilator during examinations, marking a serious legal escalation in the ongoing investigation.
