A catastrophic high-speed collision on the newly developed Coastal Road in Mumbai claimed the lives of three individuals and left another person fighting for survival during the early hours of Sunday. The accident occurred on the corridor connecting Marine Drive to Haji Ali, directly opposite Lala College near Lotus Jetty. Preliminary findings indicate that extreme velocity was the central factor behind the luxury BMW vehicle losing control and crashing violently along the roadway.

First responders were alerted to the incident after the Coastal Road control room logged an emergency call at approximately 5:20 AM on 20 September 2026. Safety teams rushed to the site opposite Lala College to extricate the victims from the wreckage.
