A significant update has emerged in the ongoing investigation into the murder of Ketan Agarwal in Pune. On Friday, the Lonavala Rural Police conducted a detailed inspection at Lohagad Fort, taking the primary suspects, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, to the scene at approximately 11:00 AM. Investigators were focused on determining the exact route the accused took to reach the fort during the commission of the crime.
As there are two distinct paths leading to the site, the authorities required both Siya and Chetan to identify the specific trail they had followed on that day. After completing this verification process at the scene, the suspects were transported back to the police station. Sources indicate that the police are also planning to record the statements of Siya Goyal’s parents as part of the broader investigation in the coming days.
Tactics to impede the investigation
The police report that the interrogation process has been challenging. Officials claim that Siya and Chetan are attempting to derail and prolong the investigation by shifting blame onto one another. By refusing to accept accountability and constantly pointing fingers at each other, the suspects are reportedly complicating the process for the investigative team to establish the precise sequence of events.
Revelations regarding academic background
Meanwhile, fresh allegations regarding Siya Goyal have surfaced. Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, has stated that his family was deliberately misled regarding Siya's education and personality during the initial marriage proposal stages. According to Vishal, the families were told that Siya held a B.Com degree and was planning to launch her own bakery business.
However, the facts uncovered during the police inquiry have left Ketan’s father in shock. He claims the investigation revealed that Siya had not even completed her 12th-grade examinations and had only finished the 10th grade. Vishal Agarwal insists that this vital information was intentionally concealed from his family at the time the match was finalized.

Vishal Agarwal further alleged that Siya struggled with harmful habits, including alcohol consumption, and that her own family was deeply distressed by her behavior. He claims that in an attempt to rectify her lifestyle, her family chose to marry her into a reputable and prosperous household. Vishal suggests that this was the primary driver behind the pressure exerted by Siya’s family to ensure she married Ketan.
