According to the post-mortem report, Puranmal Mehra smothered his wife and his two-month-old infant son using a pillow, while his older son was reportedly given poison. The very next day, the lifeless bodies of all four family members were recovered from their residence. Family Strain and Statements Recorded
Police have recorded statements from eight individuals as part of the broader inquiry into the household dynamics. Initial inquiries point towards potential domestic, financial, or marital stress as underlying factors that may have led to the extreme step. According to Cuffe Parade police records, the deceased adult male was identified as 30-year-old Puranmal Shambhulal Mehra, who was found hanging inside the premises.
