The planned ceremony was staged near Karadkhel Pati, situated along the highway connecting Latur and Udgir. Driven by the lure of rapid riches through black magic, the organizers had arranged what they described as a specialized worship of Lakshmi. Around 15 individuals, including an Aghori practitioner, were set to assemble at the location for the midnight event, with preparations fully in place to bring the minor girl to the site late at night.
Plan to Exploit Minor for Occult Ritual
Details released by the police reveal that the suspects intended to force the 15-year-old victim to lie down unclothed in front of the assembled crowd. They planned to perform various incantations and Aghori rites over her, claiming these actions would trigger a supernatural shower of currency. However, before the perpetrators could execute their criminal plan or inflict harm on the child, Udgir Rural Police received precise information about the gathering and raided the spot immediately, shattering the conspiracy.
Strict Charges Filed Under POCSO and Anti-Superstition Acts
Following the intervention, police registered a case against 15 suspects involved in planning and facilitating the illegal event. The legal action includes provisions under the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, alongside stringent charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
