There is some breathing room for businesses this month. Effective July 1, 2026, Indian Oil has trimmed the price of the 19 Kg commercial LPG cylinder, and notably, this is the first time the rate has fallen at all in 2026. In Delhi the cylinder is now cheaper by Rs 183.50, while in Patna it has come down by Rs 173. The 14.2 Kg cylinder used in ordinary homes, however, carries the same price tag through July 2026.
How Much Relief on the 19 Kg Cylinder, and Where
For July 2026, the 19 Kg commercial cylinder has been reduced by anywhere between Rs 173 and Rs 183.50. Cities such as Delhi and Lucknow saw the commercial rate slide by Rs 183.50 each, while Kolkata recorded a cut of around Rs 174. In Chandigarh the price dropped by Rs 181.50 per cylinder and in Patna by Rs 173 per cylinder.
With the new rates, from July 1, 2026 the 19 Kg cylinder in Delhi costs Rs 2,930, down from the earlier Rs 3,113.50. In Chandigarh the rate now stands at Rs 2,954.50, and in Patna it is Rs 3,227 per cylinder. Kolkata, where 19 Kg prices had climbed the most since the US-Israel-Iran war, saw the rate fall to Rs 3,081.50 in July 2026 from Rs 3,255.50 the previous month.
What Is Driving the Cut
The latest softening in prices comes from easing geopolitical tensions. The US and Iran have agreed to another 60-day ceasefire, a move that pushed crude oil prices down sharply and improved movement through the Strait of Hormuz. That corridor handles roughly 20% of the world's oil and gas transportation.
14.2 Kg Household Cylinder Prices Hold Steady
On the other side of the ledger, the 14.2 Kg household cylinder has been left untouched across cities for July 2026. As a result, it continues to cost Rs 942 in Delhi, Rs 968 in Kolkata, Rs 941.50 in Mumbai and Rs 957.50 in Chennai.
