The Kerala State Lotteries Department is set to hold the draw for the Suvarna Keralam SK 70 series on Friday, offering a top prize of Rs 1 crore. The draw will take place at Gorky Bhavan, located near Bakery Junction in the Palayam area of Thiruvananthapuram, beginning at 3 PM. According to the department, the official result PDF will be uploaded on its website by 4:30 PM, after which ticket holders can verify their numbers.
Prize Breakdown
Suvarna Keralam SK 70 features nine prize tiers plus a consolation prize. The first prize is Rs 1 crore, the highest among Kerala's weekly lotteries. The second prize stands at Rs 30 lakh, while the third prize is Rs 5 lakh. The fourth prize awards Rs 5,000, the fifth Rs 2,000, the sixth Rs 1,000, the seventh Rs 500, the eighth Rs 200, and the ninth Rs 100. A consolation prize of Rs 5,000 is also included.
Weekly Lottery Schedule
The state government runs a distinct lottery scheme every day of the week. Monday features Bhagyathara, Tuesday Sthree Sakthi, Wednesday Dhanasree, Thursday Karunya Plus, Friday Suvarna Keralam, Saturday Karunya, and Sunday Samrudhi. Beyond these daily draws, the government also organises bumper lotteries several times a year, with jackpots of Rs 10 crore or more.
Claim Procedure
Winners of prizes up to Rs 5,000 can collect the amount directly from any authorised Kerala lottery retailer. For amounts above Rs 5,000, the winner must visit an authorised Kerala lottery bank branch or the District Lottery Office with the original ticket and a valid identity proof. For large prizes, 30 per cent TDS (income tax) is deducted at source, and lottery agents receive a 12 per cent commission from the winnings. All claims must be submitted within 30 days of the draw date, failing which the prize is forfeited.
Precautions for Ticket Holders
The department advises ticket holders to keep their tickets secure and not hand them over to unauthorised persons. After results are published, information should be obtained only from the official website or authorised centres. People should be wary of fraudulent calls or messages demanding money in exchange for prize assistance.
