West Bengal's September round of Annapurna Scheme assistance is expected on September 17, with 1.58 crore women included in the payment estimate. Each beneficiary is expected to receive Rs 3,000 through DBT. When the September instalment is missing, the first checks are the application record and the bank account information.
June launch grew into a much larger payment round
The newly formed BJP government in West Bengal announced the Annapurna Scheme. Rollout began on June 3 this year, and the programme was designed to deliver financial aid every month to women who qualify. TMC had operated the earlier Lakshmir Bhandar scheme, which Annapurna replaced. When payments began in June, more than 28 lakh women received support. Processing and verification of applications then widened the beneficiary pool. The expected September count is 1.58 crore, approximately 10 lakh above August.
Payment date also marks Annapurna Divas
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced the date for the latest DBT round. It falls on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, and West Bengal is observing the day as Annapurna Divas. His announcement puts the expected beneficiary total at around 1.58 crore women, with each expected to get Rs 3,000. Compared with August, that is an increase of approximately 10 lakh beneficiaries. No separate final count for August was included, so the supported comparison is the stated approximate increase.
Age, employment and income determine eligibility
Only women aged 25 to 60 can qualify, and they must also satisfy every other condition attached to the scheme. Before submitting a form, applicants need to review the official eligibility rules currently in force.
- Permanent government work: The conditions rule out a woman holding permanent government employment while drawing a regular salary or pension. This applies to employment or pension sources involving the Union government, the state government, specified government bodies or aided institutions.
- Income earned each month: Monthly earnings above Rs 10,000 place an applicant outside the scheme. The criterion is therefore not limited to age because the stated monthly income ceiling also matters.
- Income earned by the household: A woman is excluded when her household's annual income is above Rs 12 lakh. That condition examines the household total rather than only the applicant's personal earnings.
- Rules to verify before applying: Applicants should consult the official conditions in force before filing. The age band, government employment or pension, monthly income and household income all form part of the eligibility check.
How to review the application on the social security portal
For an application check, the state's social security website is the designated portal. Login depends on the same 10-digit mobile number supplied when the form was submitted.
- Reach the official site: Open the West Bengal social security portal.
- Supply the registered mobile number: Enter the 10 digits that were used for the application.
- Use the one-time code: Request the OTP, then enter it to access the account.
- Find the status page: Select the Application Status section after access is granted.
- Read the record: Compare the application details and note any status or rejection message shown.
When the September instalment is absent, the recommended first checks are the application record and the bank account information. The portal review shows what status or rejection detail is currently displayed, while the bank check confirms what has been credited. These are the two initial checks identified for a missing September payment.
