Defence and aerospace shares recorded a decisive rally during Tuesday's trading session, spearheaded by substantial buying across several private-sector manufacturing companies. Investor enthusiasm pushed multiple sector participants up by as much as 10% in intraday dealings. Among the standout performers, Raymond led the pack, drawing intense market momentum as investors reacted to its growing industrial footprint and corporate initiatives.
Intraday Performance and Fresh 52-Week Peak
Buying pressure in Raymond gathered pace right from the market opening, propelling the stock to an intraday high of Rs 1,193.40. The counter had commenced trading at Rs 1,090 and oscillated between an intraday low of Rs 1,089.95 and the session high of Rs 1,193.40. By the closing bell at 3:30 pm on September 22, the equity shares settled at Rs 1,117, locking in a gain of Rs 32.05 or 2.95% over the previous close.
This upward move mirrored a broader structural re-rating underway across the aerospace and defence supply landscape. The benchmark Nifty Defence index climbed 54.65 points or 0.58% to trade at 9,471.55. However, individual private-sector firms exhibited far steeper trajectories. Alongside Raymond, companies such as Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing, Apollo Micro Systems, and Aequs featured prominently among the top gainers, with their shares advancing by up to 10% during the session.
Multibagger Trajectory Over 2026 and Six-Month Horizons
The latest breakout adds another chapter to what has been an extended upward trajectory for Raymond. By touching Rs 1,193.40, the stock established a fresh 52-week high. Market statistics recorded on Tuesday revealed that Raymond gained approximately 76% over the preceding month and surged by more than 166% on a year-to-date basis, securing its position within the elite multibagger group for 2026.
Examining the stock across a medium-term framework reveals even stronger momentum. Over a six-month stretch, Raymond shares have gained more than 200%, underscoring the rapid accumulation by market participants. This sustained surge aligns with growing market recognition of Raymond's specialised aerospace and defence operations alongside pivotal corporate restructuring steps.
Aerospace Division Bags Rs 33-Crore Manufacturing Contract
Raymond's strategic positioning within the defence ecosystem stems from its dedicated aerospace division, which has steadily widened its focus on high-precision advanced manufacturing. The division recently secured multi-programme purchase orders valued at approximately Rs 33 crore from an established Indian aerospace and defence major. These contracts encompass high-precision machining, aerospace-grade castings, structural components, and complex sub-assemblies. Commercial production across these order segments is slated to commence in phased timelines across 2026 and 2027.
Preferential Warrant Issue and Strategic Funding Proposal
Alongside commercial contracts, Raymond's capital expansion plans have served as a critical corporate trigger for the stock. The company has formally convened an Extraordinary General Meeting to seek shareholder authorization for a preferential issue of convertible warrants. According to the official meeting notice, the Extraordinary General Meeting is scheduled for October 3, 2026, where members will vote on the proposed allocation of up to 33,28,686 warrants priced at Rs 645 each.
Regulatory filings indicate that every warrant will be convertible into one fully paid-up equity share of Raymond. Upon complete conversion of the entire warrant block, Minerva Ventures Fund would be allotted approximately 33.28 lakh equity shares. This would represent an ownership stake of roughly 4.35% in the company on a fully diluted basis, providing growth capital to support ongoing operational scaling across its business verticals.
