Social activist Sonam Wangchuk is under close medical observation at Safdarjung Hospital, and his wife Gitanjali Angmo has now demanded his immediate discharge, saying the lack of transparency around his treatment is making the family suspicious.
What Gitanjali Angmo said
Gitanjali Angmo said the hospital's handling of information has left the family uneasy, saying the lack of transparency surrounding Wangchuk's condition and reports is making them suspicious. She has been pushing for his discharge and has asked the hospital to hand over copies of his medical reports without delay.
Dispute over the potassium report
At the centre of the disagreement is a report from Safdarjung Hospital that claimed Wangchuk has a potassium deficiency. Angmo specifically flagged this test result, questioning its accuracy. A doctor reviewing Wangchuk's case has also rejected the hospital's claim, describing the report as suspicious. Neither the doctor's identity nor further clinical details have been disclosed.

Gitanjali Angmo, Wangchuk's wife, holds a black belt in karate and has trained as a ballet dancer in Russia.
