Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Raj Bhushan Choudhary recently chaired a high-level review meeting in Anini to assess the progress of developmental works and infrastructure initiatives across Arunachal Pradesh's border district of Dibang Valley. The session focused on overcoming key logistical hurdles and accelerating the rollout of critical public services in this sensitive frontier area.
Focus on Border Connectivity and Telecommunications
During the discussions held on Tuesday, the minister evaluated key operational sectors, including road networks, healthcare facilities, drinking water supply, telecom expansion, and agricultural infrastructure. Choudhary placed special emphasis on completing strategic border road projects without unnecessary delay. Among the top priorities highlighted were the early construction of the proposed Roing-Anini Greenfield Bypass, the rapid expansion of 4G telecommunication coverage, and the timely processing of pending forest clearances to prevent project stagnation.
Boosting Local Agriculture and Sustainable Tourism
Recognizing the economic possibilities inherent to the district, Choudhary urged officials to tap into the regional potential for eco-tourism and adventure activities. He encouraged local youth to seek career avenues in hospitality and professional skill development programs. Parallelly, he stressed the importance of maintaining eco-friendly practices to protect the pristine ecology of Dibang Valley. In the agricultural domain, the minister advocated for promoting high-value horticultural crops, strengthening direct market linkages, and establishing adequate cold storage infrastructure to enhance income levels for local farmers.
Addressing Essential Service Gaps and Future Infrastructure
The meeting also tackled long-standing administrative and logistical bottlenecks facing residents in the region. Choudhary highlighted critical gaps, such as the shortage of specialized medical personnel, deficiencies in emergency medical care, inadequate drinking water coverage, and the necessity to advance renewable energy installations. Senior administrators present at the gathering included Deputy Commissioner Yashwant Meena, Superintendent of Police James K. Lego, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, and several circle officers alongside various heads of departments. Choudhary called for unified inter-departmental action to address these public grievances, reiterating the central government's commitment to transforming border infrastructure under the broader framework of Viksit Bharat 2047.
