Modi Cracks the Whip at 52nd PRAGATI Review, Warns Officials Over Delays in Rs 30,000 Crore Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed four projects worth about Rs 30,000 crore across four states at the 52nd PRAGATI meeting and pushed hard against delays. The session also covered the TB-Free India campaign and tighter action on cybercrime.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 52nd edition of the PRAGATI platform on Wednesday and took a close look at four major projects together worth roughly Rs 30,000 crore. These projects are spread across four different states and span key sectors including roads, power, an industrial corridor and metro rail. Modi made it clear that any delay in a project directly pushes up its cost, and it is ordinary citizens and industries who end up paying the price because they don't get the benefits on time.

He urged the concerned ministries to work in mission mode, with the government's entire focus on completing these projects as quickly as possible. Modi also stressed greater use of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, asking that every update be logged on the portal on time so the real picture on the ground is visible and work picks up pace.

How GatiShakti Will Speed Up the Projects

Modi described accurate planning of infrastructure projects as the most important factor, calling the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan crucial for it. He said every detail and every approval of a project must be updated on the portal, which should always carry the very latest information.

The direct benefit, he noted, is that any roadblock can be spotted in advance and coordination between different agencies improves. Decisions can then be taken at the right time based on real-time data, allowing these Rs 30,000 crore projects to be completed without any hurdles.

AI and Digital Tools in a TB-Free India

The meeting also reviewed the TB-Free India campaign. Modi placed special emphasis on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the mission, pointing out that new digital tools will make it easier to maintain accurate patient data. Specific instructions were also given for spreading awareness and following up with patients.

Modi suggested forming a team of NCC cadets and 'MY Bharat' volunteers to raise awareness at the community level. This, he said, would help achieve the goal of wiping out TB from the roots more quickly.

A Firm Line on Cybercrime and Digital Arrest

Cases of cybercrime and digital arrest have risen sharply of late. Modi voiced deep concern over this misuse of digital platforms, saying cases that cheat innocent citizens must be resolved as quickly as possible and that all agencies need to act sensitively within fixed timelines.

He stressed that ordinary people should not have to struggle to file a complaint or run from one agency to another. For that, better coordination between the police, banks and digital platforms is essential.

E-Zero FIR to Rein In Cyber Fraudsters

Quick action is vital in cyber fraud cases to save people's money. Modi made it clear that maintaining public trust is the government's priority, which is why the prevention, reporting and investigation system has to be strengthened further.

He appealed to states to roll out the e-Zero FIR system, under which a cybercrime complaint can be registered immediately, helping the police act without delay. Timely registration of complaints, he said, will help foil the designs of cyber fraudsters.

What this means for you

  • Across India: Timely completion of road, power, metro and industrial corridor projects means citizens and businesses get better facilities sooner.
  • For you: With states adopting the e-Zero FIR system, victims of cyber fraud can file a complaint instantly, improving the chances of recovering stuck money.
  • On health: The TB-Free India push, backed by AI and volunteers, will make identifying and following up with patients easier.
