Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale has issued a stern warning to Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), over his recent public remarks. Athawale characterized the statements targeting Dr. BR Ambedkar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis as irresponsible and derogatory, making it clear that such discourse would not go unchallenged.
Objection to Claims Involving Nehru and Ambedkar
Speaking to journalists in Mumbai, the Republican Party of India (Athawale) chief took strong exception to Dipke's assertion that former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru assisted Dr. Ambedkar in gaining recognition. Athawale dismissed the assertion outright, pointing out that such an argument overlooks Ambedkar's foundational contributions to the nation. He emphasized that Ambedkar's pivotal leadership in drafting the Constitution remains central to India's democratic evolution and progress.
Democratic Discourse Versus Political Boundaries
Athawale also took aim at Dipke's commentary regarding PM Modi and CM Fadnavis. While acknowledging that scrutinizing elected representatives remains an essential element of democratic life, Athawale argued that Dipke's statements exceeded the acceptable boundaries of mature political engagement. He warned that if Dipke persists in making such statements, the Republican Party will adopt a tough stance against him.
Guidance on Youth Support and Constructive Action
Addressing the following Dipke has gathered among sections of youth and students, Athawale urged the CJP founder to channel this backing constructively. Rather than triggering unnecessary friction with divisive declarations, Dipke should redirect his focus toward issues concerning the broader public welfare, Athawale noted.
Demand for Apology and Focus on Governance
The Union Minister demanded that Dipke issue an apology for his remarks concerning Ambedkar and refrain from making objectionable comments directed at Modi and Fadnavis. Defending the development track record of the administration, Athawale noted that Dipke is touring Maharashtra and should take note of ongoing infrastructure projects and state progress before leveling criticism at the leadership. The RPI leader reiterated that continued remarks of this nature will invite stronger political opposition from his party.
