Providing details on the seasonal situation, DFO Vandana Phogat explained that heavy rainfall inevitably forces snakes and pythons out of flooded burrows in search of dry shelter, causing them to move toward human habitations. Forest officials stressed that residents must remain alert rather than giving in to panic. Upon receiving any location report, trained forest department rescue personnel are promptly dispatched to capture the wildlife safely before relocating them into protected forest environments away from populated settlements.

Reptiles typically strike only when they sense an immediate physical threat or feel cornered. Python sightings have already been logged across several bustling Meerut localities, including Lalkurti Bazaar, Jagriti Vihar, and Ganganagar. Even though pythons lack venom, officials cautioned that their muscular strength and constriction mechanics pose severe dangers, making safe physical distance mandatory upon spotting one.

The advisory also highlights life-saving protocols in the event of a snakebite incident.
