Rail passengers traveling between Gujarat and Bihar have received major news as Indian Railways prepares to launch a new weekly Amrit Bharat Express connecting Ahmedabad and Bhagalpur. Advance reservation for this long-distance service officially opened on August 21. Travelers can now book their tickets through the official IRCTC portal, mobile application, or directly at passenger reservation system (PRS) counters across the country. The introduction of this direct rail link will significantly boost interstate travel and provide convenient transit options across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.
Schedule and Timings for Trains 19423 and 19424
According to the official schedule released by the railway administration, Train No. 19423 Ahmedabad-Bhagalpur Amrit Bharat Express will commence regular operations starting August 26, 2026. Departing every Wednesday from Ahmedabad at 6:30 PM, the train traverses multiple state corridors before reaching Bhagalpur on Friday morning at 6:40 AM. The entire journey from Ahmedabad to Bhagalpur is scheduled to take approximately 36 hours and 10 minutes.
In the return direction, Train No. 19424 Bhagalpur-Ahmedabad Amrit Bharat Express will initiate its commercial runs on August 28. Leaving Bhagalpur every Friday at 4:45 PM, it will arrive at Ahmedabad on Sunday morning at 5:25 AM. The return leg of the journey will take around 36 hours and 40 minutes. The train is expected to operate at top speeds ranging between 110 and 130 km/h along its route.
Comprehensive List of Stoppages Across Five States
To cater to passengers along this extensive corridor, Indian Railways has designated halts at several prominent commercial and junction stations. After departing Ahmedabad, the train will make scheduled stops in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh at Anand, Chhayapuri, Godhra, Dahod, Ratlam, Bhawani Mandi, and Ramganj Mandi before reaching Kota.
Continuing through Rajasthan and entering Uttar Pradesh, the service halts at Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Hindaun City, Bayana, Idgah Agra, Tundla, Govindpuri, Subedarganj, and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction. Upon entering Bihar, the train will stop at Buxar, Ara, Danapur, Patna, Bakhtiyarpur, Mokama, Kiul, Abhaipur, Jamalpur, and Sultanganj before concluding its run at Bhagalpur.
