A major road mishap occurred on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Jammu and Kashmir when a passenger bus carrying vacationers from West Bengal met with an accident. The tourist vehicle was traveling south from Srinagar towards Jammu when the driver lost control near the Marog stretch in Ramban district, causing the vehicle to overturn on the roadway. The violent crash resulted in injuries to 33 passengers who were aboard the bus, which carries registration number WB 41K 2929.
Joint Emergency Response Launched at Accident Site
Following immediate alerts about the overturn, rapid response units including the local police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), civil administration personnel, and the Ramban Civil Quick Response Team (QRT) rushed to the scene. Responders launched an urgent operation to pull passengers out of the damaged bus and transported every injured person directly to District Hospital Ramban, where medical teams immediately began administering emergency care.
Nine Critically Hurt Passengers Transferred to Jammu Hospital
Upon evaluation by doctors at the district medical facility, the injuries of nine tourists were found to be particularly severe. Medical teams determined that these nine individuals required advanced interventions, leading to their immediate referral to GMC Hospital in Jammu for specialized care. Meanwhile, local administrative bodies and emergency services stepped up the coordination of medical relief to ensure stability for all other recovering patients.
Senior Administrative and Police Officials Inspect Site
Top district authorities arrived at the scene shortly after receiving word of the crash to supervise rescue measures directly. ADC Ramban Varunjeet Singh Charak, Additional SP Majeeb-ur-Rehman, and ACR Shaukat Hayat Mattoo inspected the overturned vehicle and oversaw the evacuation process. Later, the team of officials visited District Hospital Ramban to examine the treatment arrangements and monitor the condition of the admitted travelers.
Medical Staff Instructed to Ensure Comprehensive Care
The Ramban district administration issued clear directives to the Medical Superintendent of the hospital to maintain top-tier healthcare arrangements for every single injured visitor. Authorities stated that all administrative arms and rescue teams remain actively deployed to oversee recovery, logistical assistance, and uninterrupted medical attention for the affected tourists throughout their hospital stay.
