A nationwide campaign named Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan has officially commenced in Varanasi to mark the 650th birth anniversary year of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Maharaj. Launched on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, this initiative aims to promote social harmony, brotherhood, and unity across the country through various cultural and community events.
Campaign Blueprint and Key Highlights
Organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party, the nationwide drive will run for seven months, spanning from July 29, 2026, to February 20, 2027. The grand launch in Varanasi was inaugurated with the ceremonial worship of 131 sacred kalash vessels. As part of this campaign, lamps of harmony will be lit at more than 51,000 locations nationwide to spread the teachings and ideals of Guru Ravidas Maharaj to every household.
