Content creator and podcaster Shreya Kalra has emerged victorious in the reality show 'Lock Upp: Sach Ya Saza' (Lock Upp Season 2), taking home the trophy along with a cash prize of 1 crore INR. Following her triumph, Shreya shared her detailed financial plans for utilizing the 1 crore INR prize money. She revealed that she intends to donate a portion of her winnings to support a shelter home for destitute women operated by her close friend Shilpa Shinde. Additionally, based on her father's guidance, she is considering taking out a loan to invest in real estate property.
Supporting Shilpa Shinde's Shelter Home and Real Estate Investments
Shreya Kalra emphasized that she has no desire to spend her hard-earned prize money on extravagant luxuries or impulse purchases. She stated that buying expensive cars or splurging money does not appeal to her, as her personal lifestyle requirements remain modest. Addressing her investment strategy, Shreya shared that her father advised her to combine a portion of the funds with a property loan to invest in real estate assets, securing her financial future.
Parallelly, Shreya is prioritizing social welfare by supporting her best friend Shilpa Shinde's humanitarian initiative. Shilpa operates a shelter home dedicated to helping destitute women in need. Shreya expressed her intent to invest part of her 1 crore INR reward directly into Shilpa's shelter home. Shreya stated
"I will invest part of the winning amount in Shilpa Ji's shelter home."
She pledged to extend all possible assistance to the cause. She noted that while broader future decisions will unfold in due time, real estate investment and helping the shelter home are her primary immediate goals.
Navigating a Solo Journey in Lock Upp 2 and Disappointment Over Fellow Contestants
Shreya Kalra's journey inside the 'Lock Upp 2' house was fraught with interpersonal challenges. Throughout the season, she frequently played an isolated, individual game, which led to friction with the majority of her co-contestants. Consequently, she faced widespread dislike within the house. Amidst the tension, Shilpa Shinde and Madhuri Jain Grover were the only two participants who formed a genuine bond of friendship with her.
Despite emerging as the champion of the show, Shreya expressed sadness over the cold reception from her fellow contestants post-victory. She revealed that not a single co-contestant reached out to congratulate her after she won the trophy. Reflecting on her experience inside the house, Shreya mentioned that following initial conflicts in the first week, she repeatedly attempted to build bridges and played for the team. She specifically highlighted assisting Ram Ji on three separate occasions to complete tasks. However, her efforts failed to alter the negative attitudes toward her. Shreya remarked that while others received the benefit of the doubt, she was denied the same understanding, leaving her exhausted after continuous efforts to socialize.
From MTV Roadies Revolution to Digital Content and Reality TV Stardom
Shreya Kalra first entered the television spotlight in 2020 on the popular reality television show 'MTV Roadies Revolution'. She joined the competition as a wildcard contestant assigned to gang leader Nikhil Chinapa's team. Although her stint on the show was brief, her outspoken nature, sharp confidence, and bold persona left a lasting impression on viewers, allowing her to establish a distinct identity beyond standard social media platforms.
Leveraging the exposure gained from Roadies, Shreya successfully expanded her digital footprint as a content creator and podcaster, building a dedicated fanbase. This steady growth culminated in her selection for 'Lock Upp 2', where her strategic resilience ultimately earned her the coveted trophy and the 1 crore INR grand prize.
