There is significant news for BLOs and BLO supervisors working under the Election Department in Uttar Pradesh. The department has taken a major step to provide financial incentives to these employees by deciding to disburse a lump sum honorarium of Rs 6,000. In this regard, the Chief Electoral Officer's office has issued directives to all District Election Officers and DMs to initiate the payment process immediately.
Details of the Incentive and Official Directives
This benefit will be provided to employees engaged in the voter list revision campaign. The official order, issued by Additional Chief Electoral Officer Akhand Pratap Singh, clarifies that every Booth Level Officer and supervisor involved in the intensive special revision work will receive this incentive. The department has instructed all EROs and AEROs to take action for the payment without any delay.
Background of the Government Order
Regarding the payment process, the official letter provides a clear reference to the directives received. As per the letter issued by the Election Department Section, Government of Uttar Pradesh (letter number 349/61-2026, dated 09-07-2026), the instructions from the Election Commission of India's letter number 23/BLO/2026-ERS (dated 03-06-2026) have been implemented. Based on these guidelines, orders have been issued to transfer Rs 6,000 to the accounts of all relevant personnel. This decision is expected to provide financial relief to thousands of employees across the state who are diligently performing election-related duties.
