In a major development concerning Tamil Nadu politics and public welfare policies, Chief Minister C. To provide direct relief to ordinary families and homemakers grappling with inflation, the state government has made a major decision to grant three cooking gas cylinders entirely free of charge every year.
The standout feature of this newly introduced scheme is that eligible beneficiaries will not need to stand in queues. Instead, the full subsidy amount for the three cylinders will be deposited directly into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer, ensuring seamless financial assistance without bureaucratic hurdles.
Along with this initiative, Chief Minister Vijay has announced the launch of the ‘Vetri Payanam’ scheme, expanding the scope of the state’s existing free bus travel program to further promote public mobility for women. Under this new measure, millions of women across the state will receive free travel facilities on government buses on a much broader scale.
