CJP founder Abhijit Dipke arrives in Kochi
To participate in the demonstration, CJP founder Abhijit Dipke arrived at the Kochi airport on Saturday alongside several other senior party leaders. Dipke stated that he traveled to Kerala following a formal invitation from local organizers and prominent actor-activist Prakash Raj. Upon his arrival at the airport, the party leadership also shared a picture capturing the start of the anti-SIR campaign events in the region.
Broader context of protests against election authorities
The opposition against the election commission and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has witnessed widespread demonstrations across different parts of the country over recent weeks. Earlier protests in New Delhi at Jantar Mantar had drawn heavy security deployments, internet restrictions, and participation from various political figures and activists. The movement has now expanded to Kochi, where CJP members are actively mobilizing against the electoral roll revisions.
