In the official sworn affidavit submitted during the nomination process for the Rajya Sabha elections held in early 2026, Mallikarjun Kharge disclosed extensive details regarding his personal finances, family earnings, and legal liabilities. The affidavit lists his primary profession as a lawyer. According to the document, Kharge's total net worth, combining both movable and immovable assets, stands at approximately Rs 38.76 crore. Against these assets, he declared an outstanding financial debt of Rs 27.50 lakh.
The submission provides a year-wise account of his declared earnings over successive financial periods. For the financial year 2024-2025, Kharge reported an annual income of Rs 54.97 lakh. This reflected an increase from the previous financial year (2023-2024), during which his earnings were recorded at Rs 46.65 lakh. In FY 2022-2023, his income stood at Rs 42.78 lakh, while the figures for FY 2021-2022 and FY 2020-2021 were declared at Rs 40.57 lakh and Rs 36.41 lakh, respectively. As Congress president, Kharge receives a monthly allowance from the party to meet operational expenses. In terms of physical cash in hand, Kharge held Rs 50,000 at the time of filing, while his wife possessed cash amounting to Rs 1.50 lakh.
The financial disclosures highlight a broad banking infrastructure utilized by the family. Mallikarjun Kharge maintains 14 separate bank accounts in his name holding multi-crore balances. His wife holds 7 bank accounts containing several crore rupees. Additionally, a sum exceeding Rs 36 lakh is maintained in a dedicated Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) bank account.

In total, the family's precious metal and gemstone collection is valued at approximately Rs 2,04,05,000 (Rs 2.04 crore).

Immovable assets form the largest component of Mallikarjun Kharge's total wealth. Jointly owned with his wife, their agricultural land holdings are valued at Rs 10,04,81,250. The couple also owns non-agricultural land parcels evaluated at Rs 2,18,73,373.
In terms of constructed real estate, a commercial building valued at Rs 4,00,05,625 is registered in his wife's name. Additionally, a residential building constructed and owned by the family is valued at Rs 11,15,42,700.
