Addressing public gatherings, Mamata Banerjee claimed that approximately 9.2 million voters were intentionally excised from the registry during the exercise. She maintained that this was not a routine administrative cleanup but a calculated conspiracy designed to strip local citizens of their franchise. The deletions disproportionately impacted rural impoverished residents and women under the pretext of correcting technical glitches. The party leadership asserts they hold photographic and documentary proof to expose irregularities in the database.
Criticism Of Ruling Party Promises
Contrasting state welfare initiatives with federal assurances, the former chief minister argued that the initial political honeymoon period of the ruling party has morphed into a money-moon phase. She highlighted the state's flagship Lakshmi Bhandar scheme which provides steady financial assistance to women, contrasting it with unrealized promises made by rival politicians during previous campaigns. In contrast, the Election Commission has firmly dismissed the allegations of arbitrary deletions. Officials stated that the revision process strictly followed established guidelines aimed at purifying the voter database by removing duplicate entries, deceased individuals, and invalid records. Booth-level officers conducted multiple physical verifications before updating records. The Bharatiya Janata Party backed the electoral body, accusing the regional leadership of undermining constitutional institutions for political leverage.

Recalling that she recently secured judicial permission to address rallies following legal arguments presented by senior advocate Kalyan Banerjee, the party chief signaled an uncompromising stance. She warned that no authority or official would escape accountability for administrative overreach. Reaffirming faith in the judiciary, she declared that the fight against the disputed electoral revision would be carried forward across every available platform from the streets to Parliament.
