The by-elections took place in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, and the union territory of Puducherry. On the assembly front, voting occurred in West Bengal's Nandigram and Rejinagar, Puducherry's Thattanchavady, and Tamil Nadu's Madurantakam and Dharapuram seats. Simultaneously, the parliamentary contest was staged in Assam's Nagaon Lok Sabha seat. Emerging victors in West Bengal, the Bharatiya Janata Party secured both Nandigram and Rejinagar assembly seats, while establishing an advancing trajectory toward victory in the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency in Assam.
