The 2026 Rajya Sabha elections across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal culminated in a sweeping victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party, which captured 10 out of the 12 contested parliamentary seats. The electoral contest saw the Samajwadi Party securing two seats exclusively from Uttar Pradesh, whereas the Congress party failed to win even a single seat across all three states.
All Ten Candidates Elected Unopposed in Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh, the entire election concluded without the need for physical voting, as all nominated candidates secured their positions without contest. The BJP claimed eight of these seats, sending a substantial contingent to the Upper House. The successful candidates from the party include Priyanka Singh Rawat, Vidya Sagar Sonkar, Shruti Gangwar, Dharampal Singh, Radhakant Ojha, Gopikrishna Pandey, Ram Prakash Pal, and Ram Pratap Singh.
The Samajwadi Party managed to claim the remaining two berths from the state. Contestants running under the party banner, specifically Ramgopal Yadav and Dhanraj Nathwani, were formally declared elected unopposed, completing the state roster.
Uttarakhand Victory and Tenure Details Through 2032
In Uttarakhand, the single contested seat went to BJP nominee Dinesh Kumar Arya, who also registered an uncontested victory. Following their formal declaration, the administrative timeline for the newly selected parliamentarians has been confirmed. All representatives chosen from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand will serve their six-year parliamentary terms ending on November 25, 2032.
