Grand Celebrations Mark 12th International Yoga Day Across Rajasthan
On 21 June 2026, the 12th International Yoga Day was celebrated with immense zeal and enthusiasm across all districts, towns, and gram panchayats of Rajasthan. Embracing the core message of "Karo Yog Raho Nirog" (Practice Yoga, Stay Healthy), mass yoga sessions were organized statewide. The picturesque hill station of Mount Abu served as the focal point of these celebrations, echoing with the sacred sound of conch shells as participants gathered for the early morning sessions.
Chief Minister Leads Yoga Session by Nakki Lake
In the chilly morning air of Sirohi district's famous hill station, Mount Abu, the main state-level event took place along the beautiful banks of the historic Nakki Lake. The Chief Minister attended the grand gathering as the chief guest, practicing various yoga postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayama) alongside a massive crowd of participants. Set against the serene waters of Nakki Lake and the majestic Aravalli hills, the Chief Minister's yoga session successfully highlighted Rajasthan's potential for health and wellness tourism.
Active Participation in Jaipur and Sikar
In the state capital, Jaipur, Jawahar Circle hosted a major yoga session. Cabinet Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore joined the event, where a large number of children and youth gathered to participate in the guided yoga routines.
Meanwhile, in Sikar, the district-level event was held at the Police Line ground. District Collector Ashish Modi and Superintendent of Police Pravin Nayak joined hundreds of local residents in performing various yoga postures. Instructors at the venue highlighted the critical role of yoga in maintaining daily physical and mental well-being. Similar events took place across all blocks of Sikar, including Fatehpur, where MLA Hakam Ali and other public representatives actively participated.
Ajmer and Dausa Combine Yoga with Voting Awareness
The main district-level event in Ajmer was organized at the local Police Line. Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani and Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Choudhary attended the session as chief guests. In Ajmer South, MLA Anita Bhadel led the local yoga drive. The event was attended by the District Collector and senior officers from various departments, who emphasized mental peace through yoga while also raising awareness about the importance of voting in a democracy.
In Dausa, the Maan Club ground saw hundreds of citizens gather for a joint yoga session. The program began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Officer in Charge PC Kishan and District Collector Soumya Jha, followed by a coordinated yoga session by the participants.
Cabinet Ministers Join Celebrations in Pali, Bundi, and Karauli
A massive crowd gathered at the famous Lakhotia Garden in Pali district. The event was held under the guidance of Rajasthan's UDH and District In-charge Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra, alongside Cabinet Minister Joraram Kumawat. Amid chants of "Karo Yog Raho Nirog", Pali District Collector Ravindra Goswami, SP Monika Sen, and other local authorities performed yoga with the public.
In Bundi, the Khel Sankul sports complex hosted a grand yoga gathering. In-charge Minister Hiralal Nagar, In-charge Secretary Rukmani Riar, and several administrative officials joined the public session.
Karauli's Munshi Trilok Chand Mathur Stadium hosted a district-level program where chief guest Mukesh Dadhich, event coordinator Brijlal Dikolia, Karauli MLA Darshan Singh, Sapotra MLA Hansraj, former MLA Rajkumari, District Collector Akshay Kumar, and SP Lokesh Sonwal performed various yoga exercises alongside local residents.
Yoga on Jaisalmer's Sand Dunes and Blindfold Reading in Baran
The desert district of Jaisalmer witnessed an exceptional display of enthusiasm. At Mithdau, a village situated close to the international border, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) State President Shankar Gaura led hundreds of youth in performing yoga together on the sand dunes, creating a picturesque scene.
In Baran district, a unique event took place within the District and Sessions Court premises. Under the leadership of District and Sessions Judge Satyanarayan Tailor, judicial officers, court employees, and advocates performed yoga. A special highlight of this program was a "Brighter Minds" demonstration by the Heartfulness Institute, where children amazed the audience by reading books while completely blindfolded.
