A disturbing case of violence and public humiliation against a woman has emerged from Rajasthan's Banswara district. The incident took place in Ajna village, situated within the jurisdiction of the Arthuna police station, where a woman was subjected to severe physical assault and indignity. As footage of the attack circulated widely across social media platforms, widespread public outrage erupted, prompting critical concerns regarding local law enforcement and safety.
Public Assault and Attempt to Strip Victim
The viral footage depicts a group of women forcefully restraining the victim while beating her repeatedly. The assailants forcibly cut off her hair and committed severe acts of harassment. According to the victim's formal statement, the attackers also attempted to disrobe her in full public view. Throughout the ordeal, the victim screamed for help, yet no bystanders stepped forward to intervene or protect her from the violence.
Police Register Case and Detain Husband
Taking immediate notice of the viral clip and the gravity of the offense, the Arthuna police initiated prompt legal measures. Station House Officer Vinod Kumar confirmed that the violence occurred on Tuesday evening. Based on the victim's written complaint, an FIR was filed naming her husband alongside several female family members. Police swiftly acted to detain the husband, who is currently undergoing detailed interrogation.
Ongoing Search for Remaining Accused
SHO Vinod Kumar stated that law enforcement agencies are conducting a thorough investigation to ensure justice. Authorities are actively analyzing the video footage to verify the identities of all participating men and women. Local residents have expressed intense indignation, particularly over female relatives participating in such brutal conduct against another woman. Police officials assured that all remaining suspects involved in the crime will be apprehended shortly.
